Just a couple of updates before bedtime.... We had a really lovely weekend just hanging out and enjoying the sunshine. I am so thrilled Springtime is finally here!
Saturday afternoon our friends Yevgeniy and Marina dropped by to visit with their son Max, who is 9 months old. It was hard for me to remember that Logan was once that small and not able to crawl or walk well on his own! The boys played for an hour or so before they both started getting cranky and tired. And, Jon and I had a really nice time catching up with Yevgeniy and Marina who we haven't seen in ages (even though they just moved to a new home not far from us!). Strange how parenthood will do that to you.
Later that night, we met up with a bunch of friends to celebrate Jarrod's birthday. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and movie (Monsters vs. Aliens) afterward, all baby-free. It was a nice break for Jon and I after such a long work week. And, Logan had a really great time spending the night with my parents, kicking and throwing his new toy ball around the house and playing chase with my dad. :)
Lately, Logan has started climbing up onto our bed, even when we're not around. He L-O-V-E-S rolling around on our big comforter and across our pillows. So I wasn't too surprised to walk in on him hanging out with a huge grin on his face. Totally caught in the act.
I think he likes it there because it's one of the more softer, plusher areas of our house. I don't keep too many throw pillows around and save for a couple of rugs, the house has all hardwood floors. I've seen him take a pillow and throw it on the floor, burying his face into it and laughing with glee while cuddling a stuffed animal (to be fair, that's also usually a sign that he's ready for bed). And, the teachers say he loves to roll around on the carpet at school, most often in the "reading area" which is basically a corner filled with a ton of pillows, blankets and futon mats.
So, as soon as I find some spare time (HA!), I think my next project will be to clear out a little area near his corner bookcase where I can heap a pile of soft pillows, bedding and maybe a bean bag or something to sink into. We'll see. :)
