My parents had plans to drive up into the foothills and visit a local iris farm with my grandparents (my grandmother used to grow irises for several years and loves them). Since I didn't have any plans for the boys, I decided to join them while Jon was at rugby practice (he met up with us after he was done).
It was an absolutely gorgeous day with rows upon rows of beautiful blooms. The boys picnic'd at a nearby table in the shade of an olive tree, and visited the farm's chickens, horses and calf. But probably the most fun for them was just walking around and digging in/exploring the dirt. ;-)
All in all, a great day!
