Me time
Time for some hot cocoa, snuggled on the couch browsing RueLaLa, with Castle playing on the TV in the background. :)
Penmanship
So I got Logan's "mid year" report and one of the things they say is he needs to improve on is his penmanship.
Seriously? I think this is pretty good. I don't know what to think about these teachers (and their very high expectations!).

Our boys refuse to go on the fast roller coaster rides but they are BEGGING to go on this gigantic contraption!

We are here, we are here, we are here!
Got to our hotel later than we wanted but we are here! Checked in, grabbed some delicious pizza with the Jodoins for dinner and when we got back, Disneyland's fireworks just started. We are so close that the booms are shaking our windows and floor! :)
Looking forward to a jam-packed day of fun tomorrow!

Carsick.
Cleaning out a puke filled car seat in the parking lot of an auto repair shop with a package of baby wipes is never fun. (But thank God I brought wipes!)
Suffice it to say, no more iPad games for Callum on this road trip. *sigh*

Road Trip!
Lunch stop after several hours of driving. All they wanted to do were goofy poses so this is the best you're gonna get. ;-)

"Holiday" Party
My work (finally) had their holiday party tonight. It was a pretty
nice event, held at the (new) exploratorium!
Here's the end of our night, getting dessert at the Sorbet (made in
dry ice) Bar! :)

Callumisms of last weekend
Forgot to post these two from last weekend, but thought they were pretty funny.
Saturday morning, Jon was out with the dogs and I was lounging in bed
like I always do, until the boys wake up.
Callum woke up first and instead of coming to our room (which is what
he usually does), he went straight to the bathroom and hopped onto the
potty.
From my room I could hear him talking to himself while sitting on the
potty. It was a very elaborate and imaginative story, which made me
half wonder if he was still asleep. ;-)
It dawned on me I should try to record it, but I didn't act fast
enough. So, I wrote down part of the end. Here it goes...
....
And if they (kids at school) laugh at me, my Mommy and Daddy will
stomp on them.
Then they'll turn into sloppy monsters.
I don't want any monsters to touch me.
Or my pajamas.
Because my name is Callum.
....
Then he finished up his business and climbed into bed with me, as he
usually does. I asked him if there were monsters in his room or
something, that he was talking about?
He very matter-of-factly informed me:
Oh, there's no monsters in our house Mommy. I'm just pretending.
-------
The second Callumism of last weekend was another conversation we had,
when he noticed my "softer" belly. ;-)
C: My tummy is different (from yours).
Me: Yes, that's because you're in shape.
C: Well, I am a different shape.

3-D Puzzle
This was a birthday gift for Logan but Callum loves playing it (it's
really hard tho!).
So, he's working on one of the puzzles this morning and yells at me
"Mama, don't talk! You're going to mess me up!"
It's like the foreshadowing of video gaming (or whatever) to come. ;-)

Let the game begin!
I guess I was in a "popper" kind of mood today!
Made these yummy Snickerdoodle Poppers (Vanilla pudding filling) and a
creamy Jalapeño Popper cheese dip for the Super Bowl today.
As it turned out, Callum caught a bug recently and was up late last
night and this morning coughing. It doesn't seem to be too severe but
I didn't want to chance him passing it onto our friends. So we stayed
home (with Paul who's also visiting) and watched the game here while
Jon and Logan (and Eric) headed over to the Jodoin's house for their
Super Bowl party.
Now, time to eat! ;-)

Yummy! Harrods Cookies!
My (Chinese) cousins in the UK sent us some delicious all-butter
cookies, from my fave - Harrods - for the New Year!
The boys were so excited to open their surprise package this morning.
And, Logan immediately called dibs on the gorgeous tin they came in -
he wants to use it to store his money in, once we've eaten all the
cookies. (I guess his piggy bank has now been downgraded).
